Scotland beat Argentina 13-9 Saturday in cold and wet conditions to clinch its first test series victory in the southern hemisphere.
Scotland beat Argentina 24-16 in the first of two tests on June 12.
The Pumas gave away a penalty almost immediately at the Atlantic resort city of Mar del Plata.
Scotland kicked it into touch, won the line-out and lock Jim Hamilton bundled it over for the game's only try after just 2 1/2 minutes.
Dan Parks converted to give Scotland a 7-0 lead before the Pumas had even ventured into the Scotland half.
Parks ended with two penalties and one conversion for Scotland.
Argentina's top scorer was Felipe Contepomi with two penalties.
After giving away so many penalties in the first test in Tucuman, Argentina set out to be more disciplined.
Contepomi reduced the deficit with a penalty on 13 minutes and another in the 19th to move Argentina to within one point of Scotland.
The Pumas began moving the ball about more freely, stamping greater authority on the game.
But their indiscipline crept back into play. Rodrigo Roncero was shown the yellow card and, in the next eight minutes, Argentina gave away three penalties.
Parks only managed to put one of them between the posts, increasing the Scottish lead to 10-6 by half-time when the rain came down, forcing many in the 20,000 crowd to run for cover.
The Pumas came out after the break running and passing the ball about smoothly but were often let down by their final touch.
Contepomi missed a penalty in the 55th, then limped off with an injury to his left knee. He was replaced by Rafael Carballo.
Scottish captain Alastair Kellock also left the pitch injured in the 60th.
The Pumas kept pushing, only kept at bay by some solid Scottish defending. They were rewarded with a penalty and Martin Rodriguez kept his nerve to put Argentina back to just a point behind Scotland.
Parks put Scotland 13-9 ahead with another penalty, then missed one to give him a 50 percent success rate with his kicking. Despite some heavy Pumas pressure in the last five minutes, it was enough to give Scotland a narrow victory.
Scotland will face Argentina, two places above them in the world rankings, in the World Cup in New Zealand next year.
